“I found this site while surfing the internet looking for old school friends, as some had been in the Hollies I thought it may be a good place to start, so glad I did as I found a few old friends and have now made many more new ones. I join the group site and enjoy the content of the group. I recommend you try it.”

“Thanks to aid I got from Paul and the other members of the Hollies Kids group, I was able to trace the details of my wife’s Father and Aunt, who both spent their childhood at the Hollies, way back in the 1920’s. This is a great site and the Hollies Kids are lovely, helpful people.”

Hi Paul I appreciate the photos and history of the home on your website. As my Mother and aunt’s were in Laurel cottage in 1920, I am sending you a photo of them all taken then.
Thank you Rita, the photo is great and I will show it soon as I will be changing the photos around every now and then to allow others to enjoy then. Paul

I would just like to say how wonderful I think your Hollies Kids Website is. I went to burnt oak school (’87 – ’90) and still live very near by. I also recently learned that my grandfather and several of his brothers moved to the hollies from Depford in the 20’s or ‘30’s when their mother died.
I desperately wish he were still alive to tell me about his time there… maybe I sat in the same class room as he did, maybe a played in the same spot as he did …. now I will never know.
But your website has given me an idea of what my dear granddads childhood must have been like, and the old pictures are wonderful to look at. So thank you very much, and I wish you and your fascinating project great success.
Kindest regards,
Lucy

Dear Paul,
You would not believe the shear delight your web site has given my father in law!
He has been trying to find out more information about Lamourbey children's home for years. He was born in 1931 and was there some few years later. As a family, we have been unsuccessful in finding out anything about this home for years. Today, I began researching our family tree and he again asked if I could try and find the home. Well, he is chuffed to pieces and very eager to come and look at the old photos. Maybe he is on there?
Thank you for bringing such happiness to him.
Mariska
